The Winchester brothers drove down the narrow empty road leading to Neptune City, California. The brothers planned on just passing through it to get to their final destination, which was LA. Sam was driving, while Dean was snoring in the passenger’s seat next to him.
Both the brothers jumped up when the car almost spun out of control. It came to a screeching halt at the side of the road. "What the hell was that?" Dean shouted
Sam shrugged. "We must have hit something."
"I swear, if something screwed my car up, you're a dead man." Dean sneered.
Both brothers got out to inspect the car. They didn't find any scratches, just a flat tire. "Dammit Sam! Be more careful next time, will ya!?"
Sam rolled his eyes and got his cell phone out. "Well, looks like we're going to be stuck in Neptune until we get a new tire."
Dean leaned on the side of the car and said, "What are we going to do then?"
Sam fished through his pockets for something. "I don't know. But, we're running out of money."
Dean ended up calling a cheap tow truck that towed them to some garage owned by a guy named Angel.
The guy that owned the garage told the boys it would be ready in a day or so. "A day or so to change a flat tire?! What kind of service is that?" Dean complained.
The two brothers didn't know how to get to a motel. They didn't have enough money to call a cab, and no one at the garage looked friendly enough to give them a ride. That's when they spotted a petit blonde girl talking to a pissed-off looking, biker.
Dean strode up to her and cut the biker off. "Hey there. You look like you know this town well. Care to give to brothers a ride to the cheapest motel around?"
"Hey there, buddy. You blind? We was kind of in the middle of a conversation here." the biker sneered.
The two looked like they were about to get into a fight. Who knows who would have won if they did, but the tiny blonde cut in. "Hey, hey boys. No need to bicker over lil' 'ol me!"
The two stepped backwards. The tiny blonde turned to the bald biker. "Weevil, we'll continue this chat later". She smiled and turned towards the two brothers. "Hey there. I'm Veronica. Veronica Mars. I take it you haven’t heard of me. Therefore you're new. What can I do for you?"
"Our car got a flat, and we have no money for a cab. You look like you know the town well... so we were wondering if you could possibly give us a ride to the nearest, cheapest motel around?" Sam asked.
Veronica glared at them. "Well, give me your names first. Then I'll see what I can do."
Sam and Dean look taken back. She may be tiny, but she was damn fierce. "I'm Sam Winchester, and this is my brother Dean," He said pointing to Dean.
"I'm the handsome one. He's the book worm." Dean joked. Sam or Veronica didn't laugh. "Whoa... tough crowd."
Veronica snorted. "My, my, aren’t you full of yourself Mr. Winchester. Anyway, I'll give you two a ride to the Camelot. It's the cheapest motel around. Full of...."
Sam cut her off, "Okay! Okay! We know! We get it!"
The three of them went to Veronica's Le Baron, and when everyone was seated, she started the engine. They were on the road in seconds.
The first few miles were quiet, but after a while Veronica's curiosity got the best of her and she started to talk. "So, Sam and Dean Winchester. What are you doing all alone on the road? More importantly... what are you doing here at the magnificent Neptune?"
The two brothers exchanged looks. Dean spoke up. "Just passing through." he replied.
Veronica raised an eyebrow. She didn't quite believe the brothers. They might have been passing through, but what was their agenda?
The car was silent the rest of the way to the Camelot. Veronica dropped the brothers off and was gone.
They registered and headed to the tiny room.
The brothers sat in the room talking. "That Veronica chick seems suspicious." Dean commented.
Sam nodded in agreement. "Yeah, you’re right…"
